OH BUGGER The Drug tests were all negative and on top of that WiiGA won the final match. FINAL SCORE
WiiGA 9 BAGS 3 Still Bags won the same number of games as they did in the 1st WiiGA v BAGS match so not all bad Great times everyone. Thanks to everyone who volunteered, players an eliminator and arranged games despite time zone problems without any need for any Admins to step in. It made running this event a pleasure and I'm sure Skinniepost will no doubt echo the same sentiments. Lastly a big thanks to Dude and Skinnie for their early work on regarding rules. and format and to Skinnie for carrying it through to completion. On the Bags side to Firestricker for his help behind the scenes. 3 Gentlemen who are a pleasure to work with Jim Ok Fire theyve gone now so where do we go from here Perhaps we challenge WiiGA to a ladies game were bound to win that. arn't we You do realise that WiiGA now hold the Giacomo Cup and whatever the Format next time we have to win it as a draw aint good enough. Thats the last of the free Pizzas for the baggerboys and no more free drinks either. Give then 2 days off and start the Boot Camps Fire

As the first alternate for team WiiGA, I was disappointed in the 9-3 VICTORY. I was hoping for a tie, so the BAGS first alternate, chrisfromlux, would have all the weight on his shoulder. He would have cracked and buckled with all the added pressure. kenw would have done the same though, so it would have been a wild finish,I'm sure. ;D A special shout out to SkinniePost and jimbob for getting the details worked out for this exciting event. There will be more to come, I am sure Great fun it was following the scores coming in! - ken

Hey Ken, We cannot simulate the pressure of being in the deciding game of the Giacomo Cup, but if you want to play the match we would have had, I'm more than ready! Seems like I was not ready afterall! Ken and I decided to play our game, even if it wasn't needed for the Giacomo Cup. And like the Cup itself, it resulted in another defeat for the BAGS-player. We both had our problems with the conditions and the wind, and many Drives landed in the rough. The big difference was that Ken got nicely on the Green on most approaches, while I missed a few too many of them! The result was me being 4DN after 14, and Dormie ... and then came #15. My Drive was in the rough again, but only about 1 foot away from the fairway ... and the game proposed the HL Wedge, aiming back to the fairway. Being quite puzzled at first, as that never ever happened to me so far, I finally turned around, looking for the Flag, but couldn't see it. I then chose a club that matched the distance to the pin, and turned around again, while being zoomed out, which takes forever, but I finally found the green. Unfortunately, there were only 5 secs left before the 3rd Shot Clock Violation, and I couldn't take my shot anymore. Sad ending to an otherwise fun game. And fun we had, in the Chat, while playing the game, and that is what it's all about. ;D Ken, I hope we can play again some day. I might put up more of a challenge. Of course, similar play times with a 6 hour difference will make that difficult to set up again ... Chris

Let me guess, you were playing at Whistling Straits. This one hole on the back nine always suggests a wedge not aimed in the direction of the green - even if you're in the fairway. If you can get past the dogleg it's fine, otherwise the club suggestion is messed up. You need a caddie with local knowledge next time I view this like the 18th at Bethpage which has no yardage markers associated with it even if they're turned on. There's an error in the coding somewhere. TMan

Although the game didn't count for anything, we met up and played just for giggles. The High winds were quite the challenge for sure. Chris seemed to be using strategy, as he "let" me to win the first hole. This allowed him to watch my next drive on hole #2,which I also won. Chris won hole 3, only to watch ken win the 4th. We tied the 5th and 6th. Ken won the 7th for a 3up lead. We tied holes 9,10, and 11. Ken won the 12th but Chris was starting a charge by winning the 13th. Ken got it back to 4up after the 14th. Had I been thinking and paying attention, I would have gladly warned Chris about the little weird club/aiming issue on the 15th prior to teeing off. After seeing Chris taking a long time to hit, I immediately saw the issue, and told him to aim way left (that's where the hole is). By then it was too late and Chris was removed from the game after 3 clocks. The strange thing is that I was stranded on the course waiting for him to hit, even though he was no longer in the game I recorded the match: www.ustream.tv/recorded/12990784We had a blast. Since I had the honor of teeing off most holes, I was feeding tips to Chris. If it was a good faiway shot, I told him to follow it. If I went right, I said go a bit left of my streak. I was taking some risky shots, some worked, some didn't. Although I didn't really think it was a D4, I tried to go for it on the 8th. Heck a 28 mph tailwind, I had to try. After hitting the rough, I informed Chris not to try that Was a pleasure to play Chris and hope we can meet up again. Chris mentioned maybe TPX ok, I've seen his scores in that mode, but I ain't scared -KenFromPa

Yes, TMan, Whistling Straights it was ... although I played that course already many times, I really can't remember having had that problem. Ken, indeed: my strategy was to have you win the first hole, watch your shots until the end, and then win the game on #17 and #18 ... but something didn't work out as planned! But thanks for the tips during the game BTW, you got 1 Karma for your Online Name, supposing it was only created for our match? Seeing a "KenWFromPA" set up the game against a "ChrisFromLux" gave me the first funny moment of the evening! If you already used that Persona before, though, I might have to take that Karma away again! And if you ever want to play a TPX-round, or give me an AM-revenge, just shoot me a PM! Chris

Jeese wasThe WiiGa v Bags GIACOMO CUP played last Febuary It seems like only yesterday. Its December next week so better start thinking of the next match in 2012 as BAGS is the HOME side I may have some work to do especially to give us an advantage as WiiGA holds the Cup[/size] Hey Ken keep this to yourself and Ill write it small so we cant be overheard. Bags may struggle to get 12 players this year. Now the world financial situation is such that I cant offer you a substancial amount of cash like I did to bribe DGG but free beer and Pizza at the Bags Members Longe for all of February cant be sniffed at. Anyway you never seem to make the WiiGA 1st team only being in the 2nd team, in fact one year wernt you only 2nd reserve
Bags can offer you a starting spot and a guarenteed game. If your interested get your people to talk to my people and see if we can come to an agreement.
Jim
