Assuming we need to use some sort of handicapping, stock players might provide an additional means of leveling the playing field, particularly since we can rate the quality of play of a stock player. Should we use this method?

you can rate the quality of a stock player but it is far more difficult to rate a members ability. i dont mind stock as an occassional event but wouldnt enjoy this as a constant handicapp, would rather just give strokes or no replay or whatever.

If your thinking of a handicap as part of the equation why can't you use the previous tournament rounds as a starting point?
