I created another thread in an attempt to try to get some answers from EA Sports. After a few days, EA_EricBusch reponded to this post and asked us what we thought would be fair on one of my issues. The issue was in regards to the 33% completion of an online match before the server would credit a win or loss to the match. The 33% completion means after completing 6 holes in an 18 hole match or 3 holes in a 9 hole match. MANY leader board players exploited this to avoid a loss so they could climb up the leader board. There have been several threads on the EA forum in the past, regarding this subject. FINALLY it seems as though they will take our oppinions and complaints regarding the QUITTERS, seriously. I responded to EA_EricBusch suggesting that when 2 holes are completed (12%), then the match should register for a win or loss, I also asked other players to post they're oppinions. Using 12% also means that after 1 hole is completed in a 9 hole match, then it will register. EA_EricBusch then responded that 12% is the number they have also been kicking around, BUT he also stated that he needed to check with the Server Guys to make certain they could make the change. The way I see it, he would not have made these comments if they could not make this happen, he would have some EGG on his face if this did not follow though. I would like EVERY MEMBER to check out the following thread to see what is about to happen to online Simultaneous matches. This will really help to put the QUITTERS in a disadvantage. I am so tired of throwing some shots to keep them from quitting on me. I have been known to go beat up the quitters with a goofy persona with no ranking. I would let them get ahead by a stroke or 2, shoot my ball into the sand traps or the trees, just to sucker them in past 6 holes, then I would tear them up. It was one of my fun pass-times, they would still usually quit before the end of the match, but it COST them skill points. Please check out this thread, respond to this thread if you agree with the 12%, the more people who say yes, the faster it will happen. WE have finally made a difference, and the WiiGA can take pride in the fact that our members have made them listen. forum.ea.com/eaforum/posts/list/255486.pageThanx to ALL our members, TheJokker

I just posted my agreement that 12% would be perfect. Hopefully EA can make the server side change because it's really frustrating to have the DC plauge ruining some of the online experience.
I also liked your idea about a DC while you're winning not counting against your record.

I agree Jokker. Lets hope that enough people support this and that change is made.
I made my post on the EA Forms.

I agree with 12%. But I would be in favor of once you hit your first shot...or after the first hole is complete. Anything is better than playing down to the quitters level for so many holes just for them to still quit before putting on the 6th hole.
I would really encourage getting the win if the server disconnects while you are ahead. I would not like it if it meant that someone ahead could just quit to get the win.
Last issue I have had this year is that some will quit on the 16th hole as an example of what happened last night. I was up by 10 and they quit. I didn't get the points. In another case that was similar I got the win and no points. FRUSTRATING!
I have only had one server drop this year....unfortunately it was my only drop.
Though I willadmit twice this year I have dropped the game before I hit my first tee shot. Both times was due to the fact that I just played that course and it was one of the courses we played to death last year. I really enjoy playing the new courses, but they don't come up often enough.

I was at 500's then went up to low 300's, after a few matches last night with quitters. So, would that mean my ranking just went up and not my points or did I get my points also. Where do you check you points at because I can not find them on my Wii? Then again I could be overlooking because I do things like that. It's from the smoke off the golf balls that wing and snap gave me during our last team play. They clouded my mind but the Dr. said that twitch is normal also. ;D ;D

Fog-
As Jokker mentioned a few days back. The way the points system works is as follows: If you play past the first 33% of the game (3 holes in a 9 hole match or 6 holes in an 18 hole match and win you are awarded skill points.
The number of points are awarded based on your skill level vs your opponents. If you are ranked closer to number 1 then you will be awarded less points if your opponent is ranked closer to 5000th. In that example you may receive between 9 and 12 points for a win in an 18 hole match. Now should it be the other way around and you are ranked like 500th and you beat someone in the top 10 you may receive as much as 40-50 skill points. The higher up the leaderboard you go the less you will be awarded unless the opponent has a better ranking. The average once you are on the leaderboard is around 14-16 points for a win.
When you lose it is fairly penal. In my experience I usually lose about 60 skill points unless the opponent has a better ranking and then it may only be 25-35 skill points.
To answer your main question regarding how many points you have. The only way to know exactly how many is to make the top 100 leader board. Then it will show you the skill points. If you go into the leaderboard under simultaneous play you will see that the points range from about 800-3000 currently.
Another way to tell is by your level. Workifng backwards from the current leaderboard- 3200 skill points is a level 22. 3000 points is level 21. 2800 is level 19. 2600 is level 18. 2400 is level 17. 2200 is level 16. 2000 is level 15. 1800 is level 14. 1600 is level 13. 1400 is level 12. 1300 is level 11. 1200 is level 10. 1100 is level 9 and so on for every 100 points lower you are 1 level lower.
I may be off relative to when a level moves up from 100 points to 200 points. But it can be a guage before you make the leaderboard none the less.
Hopefully this helps.
When I go back on line tomorrow I will confirm the numbers and send any needed corrections.

Sorry guys-
Slight correction to points and levels attained by skill point total.
Now starting at the bottom-
Level 1= up to 599 Level 2= 600 to 699 Level 3= 700 Level 4= 800 Level 5= 900 Level 6=1000 Level 7=1100 Level 8=1200 Level 9=1300 Level10=1400 Level11=1500 Level12=1600 Level13=1700 Level14-1800 Level15=1900 Level16=2000 Level17=2200 Level18=2400 Level19=2600 Level20=2800 Level21=3000 Level22=3200
I assume you go up a level for every 200 points after that

OK everyone, sounds like a done deal, the DROP point WILL be lowered to 11%. EA_EricBusch has stated that this change will happen ANY day . . . WooooooHooooooo This is gonna be funny, imagine all the TICKED OFF quitters when all of a sudden, THEY GET THE LOSE . . . WooooooHoooooo. Won't that be a surprise ? Wonder how many times they will try it before they get the POINT . . . Many of us have tried VERY hard for a VERY long time to try to get this to happen. Its almost hard to believe that they have finally listened to us and are making the change soon, perhaps even today. Eric stated that everything has been changed, tested, and about to go into affect, ANY DAY NOW . . . If you want to read about this, here is the link forum.ea.com/eaforum/posts/list/45/255486.pageLong time coming, TheJokker

FANTASTIC!!!!!! Great job working the EA folks. This is the best thing that could happen to the on line gaming experience with TW10 or the history of the franchise.
I will report back the second a quitter gets what's coming too him. I had 7 or of 8 matches go 5 1/2 holes last night...it took me almost 2 hours to complete a match that resulted in skill points. ughhhhhhhh.

This is great news. It is about time! After having suffered through the quitters in TW09 and thus far in TW10, this should rid the online frustrations to a great degree. Can't wait to see the results when it kicks in.
Thanks EA.
