Okay- there have been some concerns about the planned format for Season 2. In a nutshell: - should we cut back on the number of rounds that can be submitted? Maybe only the daily tourneys or only the weekly?
- the member tourneys count this year and are intended to provide multiple opportunities for head-to-head play, since the regular tourneys are individually played. Do you think this will work out okay?
- Each season we see declining participation as the season gets into the 3rd, 4th and 5th week. Given the excitement about the online tournaments, we thought that combining individual online with member head-to-head would provide the best combination of opportunities. Is this the wrong way to go? Should we simply repeat the Season 1 design, but for TW10?
You can answer any 3 items. So you can say that you're ready to try it (for instance), but that you think it's too much. Or you can just say that you like the member tourneys. Or you can skip the poll, but give your comments below. We just need to hear from you to know if we're doing what you want. Note: the poll will expire in 3 days. G.

i do feel the intro of live tourney scores is a good idea. however the bias should be towards sim play. i think leaving sim play up to members to create on a weekly basis is fine, im sure we will have more than enough willing orginisers to fill the weeks of the season. i certainly wouldnt mind creating a tourney or 2 to fill the spaces if we are getting short on ideas. ( or an admin) i feel the site will become a bit empty felling if we are not concentrating more on sim play, with members only briefly signing in to post scores.
however still including live tour scores will encourage members whose participation dwindles to login, post and possibly get involved in the sim play. like riz pointed out sim play is the most fun. i dont have a problem with posting 1 weekly and 1 daily score per week. most will be playing these anyway. but these should be for smaller bucks$$$. reward the players who are regularly involved in the more social aspect of sim play with a bigger pay out.
so simply if you want to compete at the top end of the leaderboard you must get involved in sim play.
getting to know some of the guys here is one of the best things about this league, so lets encourage a more social aspect to play.
so in a nutshell the new format is fine just adjust the payout to encourage sim play.

Disregard my vote for too much G. I say go for it and see what happens. I read the poll and thought we were going to play 2 tourneys a day plus the play the pros on the weekends. It's amazing how things cleared up when I read the rules annnouncement for the second season. Sometime it does pay to read the directions.

Hi, Caddy- just to clarify this item: of the 3 kinds of live tourneys (daily, weekly and pga) we will be using the daily and weekly tourneys. One daily tourney and the weekly tourney may be submitted for scoring. In other words, the maximum rounds in the original design was actually for a total of 5 rounds in a week. You can play as many of the daily tourneys you like and decide which one you want to submit for scoring, just as long as the first attempt at playing a round is the score submitted. Because of time, I probably will only be able to try 2 or 3 daily tournaments before having to select a score for submissions. Some members may be able to try all 7 daily tournaments. But the score for one and only one can be submitted.
I guess there's some confusion around this item, so I'll post another poll on the tourney selection options, and we'll gather opinion on that, as well.

I think neil hit the nail on the head. One of the biggest draws to our league, at least for Angel and I, is the social play with other in the league. it is really what promotes members to help one another and for them to be able to actually see what that members play is like.
I certaimly like the idea of the online tournies being incorporated. It allows for play in the league when you can't connect to members. but as neil said the community should be the focus for point distribution.
I know that we will have several member events. but from what I have come across with trying to figure out a new challange for our members I'm not sure that we will have enough member events to actually ballance them against the onlinetournies.
Just my two sence worth, so there it is. I will play the season in any way that the admins set it up. So go ahead guys. you've done great for us all in the past.
Thanks

I too feel that 3 leaderboards are necessary to keep up interest. It will be extremely hard for many to get in 10 rds of golf plus member tourneys in a week. Anyone who takes a 2 week holiday will have missed out on 20 rds of play that can't be made up. I can see many losing interest if they are unable to fit all the games in and stay competitive on the the boards.
I also believe that the social aspect of the Wiiga is our biggest draw. I much prefer the head to head play with other members and the chat that goes on both before and after the game. I have spent many hours getting to know many of the other players on here and I have made some great friends. There is nothing more satisfying than playing a great game when we are all neck and neck down to the wire.
This style of play also allows members to make up games if they haven't been able to get some of their rds in. Many members including myself joined late during a season and only had a short period of time to get our entire season in and were able to do so because of the spirit of the other members here. This is what sets the Wiiga apart to me.
I think that the upcoming season is going to be a trial and I will play under whatever the format. I know that the admins have a daunting chore trying to incorporate the new format and can't wait to get Season 2 underway.

There has been mention of people losing interest when they miss out on events and know that their season scores won't be competitive. Could there be a way to use the average position of a player throughout the season rather than total points/dollars?
There would have to be a "min events played" limit, but that might help for players who can't do every event.
