On Sat. Firestricker, IronByron and I were playing a round on Doral when my A Button stopped working on the tee on No. 18 with Fire having a tremendous game and shooting a 48. I teed off and drove onto the rough with no aiming circle, 2nd shot to green with no circle went into the water short. At this point had 1st clock violation and I could see that both Fire and IB were on the green. With my feeble mind and not knowing what to do I decided to give them 1 min. to finish their round by taking the last 2 clock violations. (BTW- It was a Black Wiimote received as Xmas gift that I have not been happy with since day one because of the inability to get forward spin on the D-pad, same problem I had with one white one.) This was the wrong thing to do as on the 3rd clock violation and because I was the host it disconnected without showing the final scorecard depriving Fire of a camera shot of his great round.I believe this is what I should have done:
Just keep trying to get to the green no matter how many strokes it took. Once it got to 11 it would have ended my play and the scorecard would appear with the completed scores. This happened on the last hole with me hosting. If it were to happen earlier and you are prepared for it you could finish the hole and take a quick pic of the scorecard before the next hole starts. I welcome any suggestions on how to deal with this situation if it should occur again in the future. Vern

Happened to me once Vern. Next game everything was fine and it has not happened again. I have heard other reports as well. I don't think it is a problem with your Wiimote (the missing aiming circles supports this), rather it is likely some kind communication error between your wiimote, your Wii and/or the EA servers. Keep in mind that it is a fairly complex process to get info from your wiimote to your Wii (infrared), from your Wii to your router (wireless?) and from your router to the EA servers and back again. It is testament to the resources EA and Nintendo have put into the system (not to mention my talented programmer colleagues) that everything works great 99.999% of the time. If it happens again, and you won't whack someone's great round, quit, reset and have more fun. Remember........shxt happens.

<<<<On Sat. Firestricker, IronByron and I were playing a round on Doral when my A Button stopped working on the tee on No. 18 with Fire having a tremendous game and shooting a 48.>>>> Hey Vern, I missed this post this morning and I hope your not bothered by what happened. It clears up what I thought I saw and was going to post about a question on AHO's anyway. As some already know I was playing out of my skull yesterday (Saturday) with my new golf partner Vern. I was closing out the 18th with an eagle and setting up my camera to take a pic of my new personal best and a possible tie for best score at Doral with dad & jokker when Frank sank his putt for birdie. I'm looking for Vern's ball to zoom in on it because he's shooting three. I pans around and sees his blue arrow in the water and thinks ok he'll drop and hit it on the green. Seemed like forever and Vern's ball arrow is still in the water. All of a sudden the dreaded dc'd box. Oh well I had a blast. Thanks Iron & Vern. Now my question.. Does the game have some kind of random game feature when you can do no wrong? I had 6 AHO's, four in a row. Started with an eagle, followed by an eagle, followed by an ace and followed by another eagle. I ended with an eagle and had an eagle on the front 9. Have I improved that much or does this game have some kind of random "super game" feature? This has happened to me once before but nothing like the game at Doral. Congrats to Skinnie who made my personal best moot when he shots a 47 to take over the course record.

A Button outage cure = hard reset of controller, i.e remove a battery for a brief moment and then replace... This has worked for me in the past.

A couple of questions for all you M- players!!!! What was the most AHO's you were "awarded" in one game? How many consecutive ones? <<<<On Sat. "A couple of questions for all you M- players!!!! What was the most AHO's you were "awarded" in one game? How many consecutive ones? " 5 for me. not sure bout consecutive's though. Me and MYG went to oakmont, and he gave then out like candy. Some days I get several, other days I get none. My PGA records say I have 62 HIO 29 DE's All were AHO's Those #'s have been stuck there for awhile. I know I've had more, but it doesn't seem to count Wiiga matches for whatever reason. - ken
