my pc and printer are hardwired.my wii is around 6ft from my router and is wifi i have a ps2,ps3and xbox360all wifi upstairs. all the consoles upstairs have never experienced a d/c unless it was a power outage in the area. after i changed my wii from hard wire to wifi my d/c's became almost nonexistant. my wife is a mgr with the phone company so we get our rtrs free and change them out every 6 mths whether they need it or not. i also think by changing from cable to dsl helped. what i find strange is of all the online gms i have tw wii is the only one i have ever had a d/c prob with. the internet techs at the phone comp. also told my wife that with wifi you wouldnt pick up the high and low spikes that being hardwired would. therefore getting less inteference that could cause d/c's. dad

Im not a high tech guy but here goes. I have a yellow wire that goes from my pc to a SIEMENS router. I have another yellow wire that goes from my Wii to the same router. My Wii is 3 feet from the pc. I live in the woods. My closest neighbor is 300 yards away. The next closest is 500 yards away, but neither have wireless, so no stealing from me. I used to have wireless and had many d/c's. Since wired, not a one. Only time I have a prob seems to be when 3-4 of us get into a match. We get the "waiting on opponent" sign.Occasionally someone gets dropped. I never have that in sim. One of our members has an issue when someone in his house uses the microwave. So in summary my Wii is hardwired. ;D ;D ;D I honestly believe it is the servers at EA. I have NEVER had a problem when doing Mario Kart online. -ken

That must be it, the yellow wires. Mine are blue. Off to the Radio Shack! Just kidding. When I first started playing online I had frequent disconnects using a wireless connection. Makeitso suggested that I "hard wire" my Wii to the network and ever since have been very stable experiencing few DC's. So, if you can plug it in do so. It should improve your stability too.
