NELMONATOR DEFEATS IRONBYRON 1 UP ON 19TH HOLE
What an outstanding match. I thought going in that Frank will give me some oppurtunities because he putts like me...sometimes not perfect. His putter was better than I have ever seen it though, draining lengthy putts from every angle. Honestly it was frustrating and amazing to watch at the same time. I started off quick winning the first hole and AHO hole 3 to have an early 2up lead...Frank came back to win hole 4 and 5 to square it up. Frank won hole 9 and 11 to go 2 up on me, only to have me win hole 12 and 15 to get back to square. I won hole 17 to go 1up and then I took a 7 on hole 18 to finish all square after 18. On the first playoff hole i made a short birdie and frank missed a putt that wasnt one of the 10 toughest putts he had this evening. Needless to say it was a great round and I always enjoy playing with IronByron.

Claus and I grabbed our umbrellas and galoshes and headed out for our match.
It was tough but the winds were favorable for me off the tee which I needed to have a chance.

All I can say, is WOW, WOW, WOW, what a true nailbiter, as oregonducks and joeyhoover/Batman1970, played Round 2 at St. Andrews. The flight over the pond was, horrible. It kept raining, and raining and raining, all the way over. Oregonducks, got to Fife, Scotland, and set up the match ahead of time. Well, it continued to pour and the wind continued to blow. So off we go to the 1st hole, we flip a coin and I tee first, oregonducks being the gentleman that he is. We both birdie hole one to go all square. At number two, I almost hole out the drive, and manage to squeeze out an eagle, while my playing partner obtains a birdie, 1 up. I still have the honors, so at hole three, after we both get on green, and I must have guessed right on a long putt, to get birdie, while ducky gets par. 2 up. Hole 4: THE REVENGE OF THE DUCKMAN, duck, Eagles for a 2 from Way, I mean way far away, and I birdie, it was like 170+. 1 up. Hole 5: Ducks has honors, on the par 5, and his accuracy pays off for him, AGAIN, he eagles, and I birdie. ALL SQUARE, told ya it was a great one!!! Hole 6: Ducks honors again, on the par 4, we both birdie, and remain ALL square. Hole 7: Still his honors, on the par 4, I think duck misses his birdie putt, and again I guess correctly, 1 up. Hole 8: My honors, as we go at the flag on the par 3, we both manage birdie, 1 up. Hole 9: I tee and get it very close, and birdie, ducks almost follows suit for a par. 2 up. At this point I'm thinking, ok, this thing is truly up for grabs, I get ahead, he comes back, (more on that later), but ducks is playing great, I mean great. See, he, I and KenW (he played Pro settings) played a practice round earlier this week, and it went down to the wire then too. Only difference was we did NOT see anything above 37 mph winds, we were already seeing 43, and 46 mph'ers. I go to clubhouse for a moment, change my clothes, get a poncho, umbrella, (it does no good), grab a Pepsi. And head back to #10 tee. Oregonducks, I'm sure does the same, and game on... to the dreaded back 9. Hole 10: Still my honors, I think, , we both birdie, and ducks makes a GREAT PUTT, I tell ya. Still 2 up. Hole 11: The par 3, ducks drive is far from hole, as is mine, I guess again and drill an 68 footer, if memory serves, for birdie, ducks pars. 3 up. Hole 12: Comeback #2 for the bird who doesn't like to fly. The man is DEADLY on his accuracy, oregonducks EAGLES, while a manage to birdie. 2 up. Hole 13: Is this one of those famous old "Jack Nicklaus" comebacks? We shall see... on the par 4, ducks does it again, and gets a bird, while the IDIOT starts choking BIG TIME, and gets par. 1 up. Hole 14: Duck kinda cools off a little on the par 5, and gets bird, while I hit a true, LUCKY approach to within 2 feet for an Eagle, lucky as in left to right 43 mph'er. 2 up. Hole 15: We both miss birdie putts. 2 up. Hole 16: We both go at the flag on this par 4, and BOTH Eagle, 2 up. Hole 17: By this time, ducks knows he must go for green, he makes it, and obtains a par. However, on my approach, I forgot I delofted, BIG time, and I hit into out-of-bounds for a dreaded 7. (O, yeah, I can just hear, dadgotgame, whispering in my ear, "Hoover, you've done it now." And LongHowie, saying, "Come on man, WHAT ARE YOU THINKING?", and of course KenW saying, "Bring your A game this last hole, because oregonducks SURE will." 1 up. Hole 18: So, its ducks honors, and I admit I take my time on the 18th tee as it is an 18 mph left to righter wind. I watch his ball as he goes stright for the flag/green, and he gets birdie. I recall if I get to the below and left of that pin placement that it would be better than, above and to the right. SO I aim mine to the left and swing away. I approach within 2 feet for a birdie putt, and I almost screw up, as I forget that is is uphill, it rolls in for hole-tying birdie. 1 up. In those types of conditions, all I can continue to say, is WOW, wow, what a match, oregonducks and I talk, and confirm scores. He manages to take a couple of snapshots. He is my playing partner, and it really upsets me that I won, IT REALLY does, I fretted over this match ALL week. I do not like winning over my partner in the playoffs, in whom, we both share equal admiration, because our games complement each other, and ... well, Final talley is: 1 up, joeyhoover/Batman1970 P.S. Well, I just went to post that Wayknow and I played our match and I won 51-56, but then I forgot it was match play so now I'm trying to remember the final score.
All square through 5. I drove 6 and eagled it to Way's birdie so I'm 1up. I pitched in AHO on 7 to Way's bird so 2up. Way pitched in on 9 to my bird so I'm 1up after F9.
I drive 10 and eagle to Way's bird for 2up. Way birds 11 and I par so 1 up again. Way didn't win anymore holes. I had an AHO on 14? and drove 18 and made eagle so I think I would have won 2 and 1.

Well, I just went to post that Wayknow and I played our match and I won 51-56, but then I forgot it was match play so now I'm trying to remember the final score. All square through 5. I drove 6 and eagled it to Way's birdie so I'm 1up. I pitched in AHO on 7 to Way's bird so 2up. Way pitched in on 9 to my bird so I'm 1up after F9. I drive 10 and eagle to Way's bird for 2up. Way birds 11 and I par so 1 up again. Way didn't win anymore holes. I had an AHO on 14? and drove 18 and made eagle so I think I would have won 2 and 1. Confirmed I had you winning 3 and 2.We were dormie with 3 to play.The important thing is that you played a great round and won! Congrats DD! I was trying hard! We pretty much traded shots on the front nine and then you slowly pulled away.Being down to DD I knew I had to make something happen so I started to try and stick my approach shots a little closer instead of just getting them on the green.That didn't work out as well as I would have hoped.In the end a great match in brutal conditions.The cream rose to the top in this one. Stick64 goes 1 Up on TwoTall4u Well' I must say this wasn't an easy match. I knew it would be tough. I was actually 4 up and then after a few great shots by TwoTall4u I ended 2 up after the 1st 9. The second 9 was somehwhat similar except we went back and forth a few holes and by the 16th it was all even. 17th we were still even. On to the 18th - very windy at our backs here. TwoTall'd drive ended up going over the green and I hit about an 87% drive and landed just on the green. I had a very long putt which I barley made for an eagle. Twotall took a par for the hole and that's how it ended. It was some match towards the end. Thanks of the game TwoTall4u and hope to see you out there again soon. Stick64 "Formally Known As Stick44"

neil v jokker playoff round 2
jokker wins 1 up on the 18th with a pitch in.
this was one of the most eventfull playoff ive encountered. JK came flying out the blocks to lead 2up after 2. i managed to claw back to all sq. by the 12 th when all 4 off us ( dad and dude spectating) got booted. upon the restart it was my turn to start quick. getting to 2 up with 3 to play. thinking nice at worst i should tie, big mistake. JK birdies the final 3 holes while i only managed pars.

I confirm the scores as posted by neil. This was without a doubt the toughest win I have ever had to battle for. neil played very strong the whole match but in those conditions we were both a bit off the mark a couple times. neil came back very strong late in the back 9 and continuing into the back nine. Well done SP, good luck in the finals! Confirmed... The match was too tight for me to take notes, but these are the holes that mattered... I won the 1st and 5th... MYG won the 9th... We both screwed up the 4th, and other than that had perfect holes. The back nine was a tie the entire way... Good game MYG, sorry to take that one from ya GAT/Daily Team Partner... I wish you luck in the WWW, I wish I could throw another course your way, but the best I can do is offer you is a trade for either Hazeltine or Bethpage? Hole 1 and 2, nothin special...all square with birds, hole 3, par 3...nelm in the lake, stick in the cup. An ace to take the lead, very nice. Stick then won holes 7, 8, and 9 with birdie eagle birdie as i struggled finding the right range in the wind, usually not my weakness but was tonight. Stick is 4 up at the turn, we play 10, 11, and 12 even then stick wins 13 to go 5 up. All i have to do is win the rest of the holes, go on an amazing AHO run and I own this..well, we know that didnt happen. Congrats stick on a 5 and 4 victory, good luck in the championship, and I should mention that firestricker tagged along and played dam good also. Sticks entire 18 hole scorecard was all circles, so he coulda handled me even if I was on, and for this being the first time he and I have played, I gotta say stick is legit man...Look forward to many more in the future, Nelmonator.

I confirm, this was the one match I was worried about because I do not play well in the wind and Sawgrass is not one of my stronger courses. Tied up until #3 where I pulled an ace out of the hat! Stayed 1 up until #'s 7,8, and 9 and these holes I very rarely play well until tonight. So, I am 4 up until #13 and then I went 5 up with 5 to play. It was my best round at Sawgrass, don't think I have ever shot A 50 there before. Anyway, thanks for the match nelmonator and Firestricker(who tagged along). I hope this can carry through next week! ;D

Reporting live from Sawgrass. This reporter was going to do a "blow by blow" account of this match between these mighty Titans but for selfish reasons you will get the recap version. I confirm the match between Stick and Nelmonator as I was the third wheel on their flight 2 round 3 "date" at Sawgrass. I asked the guys if they minded if I played with them and they graciously said sure "hop in." It was the first time I played with these guys and haven't been too "sociable" in chat as in playing games lately. Stick was not to be beat tonight by proof by all the circles on the card. When he started out birdie, eagle and an ace I felt for Nelmonator because I felt his pain being in his shoes many times while playing the wind in this game. Nelmonator didn't play as bad as his score looked he only had trouble with three holes but with the way Stick IMO was playing not many people would have beat him that game. Hope to play you guys more out of chat so cya soon. DavidDuval defeats Jokker 3 and 1
In our Semi finals match at Sawgrass, the Jokker started out of the blocks a little slower than expected and I was quick to take advantage of it. I built up a 3up lead after the front 9, but Jokker came storming back as you knew he would. An AHO on 10 cut it to 2up, then I missed a 15 foot bender on 13 and suddenly I was only 1 up. On 16 I hit my approach shot to the par 5, and with a heartbeat going, I see the screen do the tiniest flicker which means AHO coming. I paid Jokker back for his #10 AHO with one at the most opportune time. Unfortunately Jokker lost connection as he was lining up his eagle putt. He said he saw my deagle in chat so we confirmed I was dormie 2 and we set out to do the back 9 again.
This time around the Jokker came out flying with great shots on 10-16 but he decided to cool off his ball on 17 by taking it for a swim. I was able to find the fat of the green and take 17 for a 3 and 1 victory. Thanks for a very entertaining match Jokker!

I confirm the match as posted by DavidDuval. I surely did come out of the blocks a bit slow, musta been a bit funny to watch. During our replay of the back nine I wanted to sir it up good before the final 2 hole that counted. I did manage to stir it up but took a swim when it finally counted lol Great match DD, good luck in the Finals TheJokker DavidDuval defeats Jokker 3 and 1 In our Semi finals match at Sawgrass, the Jokker started out of the blocks a little slower than expected and I was quick to take advantage of it. I built up a 3up lead after the front 9, but Jokker came storming back as you knew he would. An AHO on 10 cut it to 2up, then I missed a 15 foot bender on 13 and suddenly I was only 1 up. On 16 I hit my approach shot to the par 5, and with a heartbeat going, I see the screen do the tiniest flicker which means AHO coming. I paid Jokker back for his #10 AHO with one at the most opportune time. Unfortunately Jokker lost connection as he was lining up his eagle putt. He said he saw my deagle in chat so we confirmed I was dormie 2 and we set out to do the back 9 again. This time around the Jokker came out flying with great shots on 10-16 but he decided to cool off his ball on 17 by taking it for a swim. I was able to find the fat of the green and take 17 for a 3 and 1 victory. Thanks for a very entertaining match Jokker!

Well Batman (Joey) and I teed it up for our round three match. He has a bad back and tried to concede the match before we started but Ducks and I talked him into giving it a go. And what a go it was. I was 3 up after 3 while Joey struggled to keep it in play. He started to find his swing (or found the Jack D) but was still down 3 after the front 9. He poured it on to start the back and I was only 1 up after 12. We played shot for shot the rest of the way and it ended Putterrr 1 up over Batman1970 That was one of the best performances I have seen from a guy that wanted to concede. Get better and see you in Season 6. Putterrr

Get better and see you in Season 6. Putterrr I confirm the above. I really wished my back would have been better. BUT, the Chiropractor said I have a bulging disc @ L5 so.... Anyway, I had to learn how to play one handed, and it did not work, needless to say, , I tried, I really did, BUT to no avail. I should have just conceded, looking back now, cause at the Number 5 tee, I hit and twisted the wrong way, I cringed, cried out, and I thought I was going to pass out for a second. BUT, I'm taking all the press here. Putterrr played VERY, VERY well, only missed a couple of putts I think the entire match. He plays great, and I knew he would! Congratulations, Putterrr, and good luck to both you and the Stick-man in the AM Flight 2 Finals!!! ESPN, will definitely be there, and Jim Nance will replace Scott Van Pelt! Good luck!

DD wins... 2 and 1 And here is my hole-by-hole recap... All my strokes are on the images and there is written text as well... Addendum #1: DD shots are listed on the holes where a match point was traded... In red text...Hole #1Hit solid drive, and just missed pitch to right of hole and about 2 feet long... Hole #2Crushed a 3w right up to the front edge of fairway, then hit over the green, but managed a pitch in for an eagle save... Hole #3Hit a nice drive with draw and settle in at the bottom of the slope up to the green, then just missed pitch to the right and long... DD hits it to almost the same spot as I did, and he hits his pitch in, it was spun in and was all DD, no AHO involved... This is my mind is the shot that wins the match in the end...Hole #4Absolutely nailed the drive and cleared the gap in the fairway, then hit my approach into the up-slope behind the pin, leaving a 8 footer for birdie... Hole #5Hit a hard draw into this green and left myself a reasonable 15 footer for birdie, but missed putt hard and high of pin... DD wins this one with a slightly closer approach, and he makes his putt, unlike myself... DD up 2...Hole #6Nice drive with subtle draw, close approach just past pin and to the right... Hole #7Hit a big faded drive, then slight draw on 5I into green, landed about a foot to right of pin... DD misses on his approach and can't recover, I get one back... DD up 1Hole #8Left it slightly short on approach, got stuck on uphill green, but sink putt for birdie... Hole #9Hit solid draw on drive and come in on left side of split fairway, barely miss flag on approach, landed slightly right and past pin... Hole #10Hit big fade into the grain of the fairway, decent approach just to the right and past pin... Hole #11Hit a huge fade on the drive and make it around the corner, line up 2nd shot and hit pin on deagle attempt, the ball stops about 1 inch to the left of the pin... Hole #12Hit a slight draw on the drive to follow the fairway, then a good approach to about 3 feet... DD drops his shot, and I believe this was the only AHO of the round... DD said it had the signs of one... His eagle takes the hole and he is now up 2 again...Hole #13Hit drive with slight fade to right side of the fairway, then missed approach long, but make 15 footer for birdie... Hole #14Hit approach dead on, bounces off pin and lands about 10 feet to the right of pin in the fringe, but make putt for birdie... DD hits to back edge of green, and then 3 putts his way in... DD now up 1...Hole #15Hit 3w off the tee with slight draw, then missed approach to the right of pin, and make 10 foot birdie putt... Hole #16Hit big draw on drive, and then again on approach, leave a 8 footer uphill for eagle... Hole #17Hit decent approach with a little fade, missed putt, bounces off high side lip, make second putt for par... DD plays a perfect hole, lands just to the right of my ball and gives himself an easy putt for birdie... At this point DD wins the match... 2 and 1Hole #18Hit a big faded driver, miss the fairway short and right of short grass, missed approach to the right, but make putt for birdie... It was a thrilling match... In which I made two attempts at the comeback, but DD's pitch on the 12th made it look grim and pretty much sealed the deal... When it was all over Putterrr was the victor over stick64 4 and 2 (stick said 3 and 2 but doesn't matter) I got lucky with shaving the front landing zones and managed to keep the ball close to the hole. Of course chipping it in from close range at least 3 times didn't hurt my cause any. I would like to thank everyone for season 5 and especially those that put in countless hours organizing so we can have to fun acting like kids.Putterrr

OK short and sweet. My good friend stick from the DGA days met me at Kiawah for a great game of golf. When it was all over Putterrr was the victor over stick64 4 and 2 (stick said 3 and 2 but doesn't matter) I got lucky with shaving the front landing zones and managed to keep the ball close to the hole. Of course chipping it in from close range at least 3 times didn't hurt my cause any. I would like to thank everyone for season 5 and especially those that put in countless hours organizing so we can have to fun acting like kids.Putterrr I must say first off and I agree with putterrr, the WiiGa Admins and everyone involved did a great job on Season 5. This match was pretty much over after the first hole. I was glad to see a couple of ol' DGAer's go after it. Congrats to my friend putterrr, who if I remember correctly was the first person I played a round with back in the DGA era. Very fine round using only irons.
