Ok so I'm new to golf games, which is my excuse for having to ask such a rudimentary question but here goes. I played the entire amateur season on ALL PLAY to boost my dudes stats as quick as possible. Now I realize with standard swing I dont have the obvious ball path but with standard swing is the circle on the ground now just a suggestion as to where the ball will land? Even when my Motion Plus icon on the screen shows I didnt open r close my swing the ball still lands in different places. Also, even when striking the ball at correct percentages the ball seems to do its own thing at different levels of accuracy. I know this is probably the dumbest thing posted on this site but I want to understand this are of mechanics so I can improve.

You have to make some assumptions. If the wind is right to left or left to right. The ball will naturally go to to right or left of where the circle target is when you take you swing. So with some time and experience you will know how much an 8 mile an hour wind will effect it. Now if the wind is towards you it will come up short of the circle target. Conversely if it is away from you it will travel farther.
The above all assumes you hit the ball straight according to the swing indicator...AND that you hit it with 100% power.
Let me know if this explains what you are experiencing. If this doesn't clear it up then let me know what you see that differs from my description.

Oh yeah....what I mentioned before also assumes that your on the fairway where it would incate 99%. If you are in the rough and it shows 80% then it will only travel 80% of the distance shown on the target circle. There is a whole other lesson to compensate for that. Example. If it is 80% and it shows 100yrds...it will likely tyravel 80 yrds assuming no wind and hit at 100%.
All of this will get easier with experience. Then the greens are yet another challenge. Most are covered in the game basics by NoChinDeluxe or other posts specific to the title.

thanks jeffro that does help some especially the rough part. I'll watch wind closer and see if that is what is happening.
