Yesterdays daily was setup for TourPro - I knew I would see pythagoras on the leaderboard...way to go pyth!
I recorded my daily for training. I shot a -6 on the front and -4 on tha back. Overall I was happy with the round although I made a couple of key mistakes.
I recommend further reading in the following thread:
wiigatour.proboards.com/index.cgi?action=display&board=tw11tips&thread=3566&page=1However, I do have a couple of quick recommendations for playing TPX (for newbies)
1. Know your clubs. You need to be confident in distance, roll etc.
2. Know the course. You should to be familiar with club selection for the course. Play, play, and play some more!
3. I use the same swing for all types of play. (I play on my knees - but that is another story) My arm is almost straight down close to my body - so the ball drop is almost always in the same spot. If I can hit the ball straight in regular play - it usually goes straight in TPX.
4. I use the middle of my TV screen for my distance marker. When a club is selected, the center of the screen is the exact distance of the chosen club. (Note on hole #12 my wii cursur is used to help me see where the ball will land - and the I adjust from there.)
FYI - I am still uncomfortable playing when the video recorder is going! It makes me feel like someone is watching me, and I will also "hurry" my shots to try and keep the video short. This is actually a good thing if you want to try it. In the end it will help you learn to concentrate and stay focused. I am getting better!
You will see that I use the spin control - activity light on the club swing meter. This also takes practice in that you cannot see the ball in flight. But it can still help a great deal. I will usually watch the ball flight until I am confident about where it is going to end up - then I use the fast play button.
Here are some of my mistakes..
Putting......
Hole #6 - Shot #2 - I tried to de-loft a 7 iron (like a wedge) to get more distance. Not thinking about it until I made the swing - I knew I screwed up but got lucky and was still able to birdy.
Hole #10 - Shot #2 - Forgot to align correctly and ended up in the trap. I was focused on trying to loft over the tree.
Hole #13 - Shot #2 - Don't know why but my 1 iron only hit 78%. Got lucky again.
Well, sorry for the long chatter, here are the clips. Hope you enjoy them..
