It has come to my attention that some of our members do not have they're 'Profile Golfer' fully built up yet. You can speed up the process a bit and get your confidence maxed out if you want to take a short cut.
You can speed up the process by turning on the 'ALL PLAY' feature for your 'Profile Golfer' to get the lines that show your shot travel. Now you can get all those Eagles and never miss a Putt. This won't help your playing abilities any, but you will get your skill points a lot faster. Then also go to the PGA tour when you get above level 7 attributes to build your points even quicker. You will want to play a couple games without the lines to get used to normal play again before you go online. Hope this helps you build up faster, if thats what you want. Nothing replaces experience though, practice, practice, practice if you want to win.

As you will guess we are new to this, but love playing. I have basic questions: like how do you build up your "profile golfer". How do you begin to build up points and save them?
I will start with these.
We appreciate your help. thanks, mustang66x2

"Building Up" your profile golfer simply means you are gaining stat points (thus increasing your character's abilities), and earning money to buy better gear for your character to wear (thus increasing performance and providing bonuses to your stat points). The way to earn stat points is simple. Just play in any PGA Tour event or Tiger Challenge event and (hopefully) improve your game. As you win tournaments and make good shots along the way, you'll earn cash and stats, the building blocks of a well-built profile character! As you play in official events, you'll see that when you make a good shot (i.e. land a drive on the fairway, land your approach on the green in one shot, make good putts, etc.) a little green circular icon will flash on your screen. This shows toward which stat you just earned points. Once you earn enough points, you will be able to go to your stats page (in the career menu) and "spend" them toward upgrading your character's abilities. You'll also have general stats (which you earn from accomplishing special achievements and winning trophies and breaking records) that you can spend toward any stat point. As you earn cash for your performance in tournaments, you can spend this money in the pro shop buying better clubs and clothing for your character to wear and use. When you view these items in the shop, at the bottom of their little item page you'll see if they will add a bonus to your stats. The stats which they improve are indicated by those same little green circular icons you saw during play. Ideally, you want to get as close as possbile to having a 10% bonus increase on every stat. To find out what gear you should be working toward buying to get those bonuses, you can click here to read the extensive list. So that should get you started. I know it can get complicated if you've never played before, so be sure to update us on new questions you may have or problems you're having finding things, etc. We'll be glad to help where we can.

Can you explain the differences between level 3 and level 4 items in the Pro Shop. I have purchased many of these items with the stats icons. Some level 3 items contain icons which are not available on level 4 items. Which is actually best to purchase. I don't fully understand the differences.

Gear with higher levels will always perform better than gear with lower levels. So your level 4 driver should give you more distance and accuracy than your level 3 driver, etc. If a level 4 item does not give a stat bonus, but a level 3 does, then you have a choice to make. Do you want the increased performance or the increased overall stat ability? In pretty much any case I'd take the stat bonus, as I don't believe the levels of gear really make THAT much of a difference. As long as your character is pumped up with maxed stats and max bonuses, it doesn't really matter what gear you use. He's still going to be awesome at that point.

Level 4 equipment tends to have better skill bonuses, but a level 3 driver with 2 bonuses should perform better than a level 4 driver with only 1.
However, a level 4 driver will often have "driving distance" and "driving accuracy" bonuses where a level 3 driver will have "driving distance" and "luck" bonuses. The difference is which bonuses you can get elsewhere (by wearing a hat with a "luck" bonus).

Sorry for my delays in responding to this, I did see that Chin answered most of this very well.
I only have a couple things to add. With a single 'level 4' item for an attribute, you get a 1% bonus. With (2) 'level 4' items, you get a 3% bonus. With (3) 'level 4' items, you get a 6% bonus. With (4) 'level 4' items, you get a 10% bonus.
If you have (2) 'level 2' items for an attribute, they will give you the equivalent of a single 'level 4' item. In some cases it may be necessary to use a 'level 1' & 'level 3' item to equal a 'level 4' item.

So if my L2 driver and L2 irons each have an accuracy bonus, I will only see a 1% bump on my stats page? In comparison, if my L4 driver has an accuracy bonus, I would only see a 1% bump on my stats page?

Sorry again for my delayed response to this last question, been a bit busy and distracted lately.
Lets take accuracy points for an example. I takes (4) level 4 bonus items to bring you up to a full 10% bonus. So if you have a Driver with Lvl 4 accuracy, Woods with Lvl 4 accuracy then you are up to a 3% bonus. Then if you add Golf Balls with Lvl 4 accuracy you go up to 6% bonus, then if your buy Gloves with Lvl 3 accuracy and Shoes with Lvl 1 accuracy, you now have a full 10% bonus for accuracy.
This works the same for all skill attribute bonuses. The total Level increase you need to reach 10% bonus, must be 16. So 4+4+4+4=16, or 4+4+3+2+2+1=16 also, either way gives you a 10% bonus increase, any combo that totals 16, or 12 for 6%, or 8 for 3%, or 4 for 1%. It does not matter what kind of items, they all add up together.
Hope this Helps, TheJokker

I have figured out something new for me regarding building the your profile golfer, figured I would share this info, perhaps you already know this.
When you are playing challenges or PGA tour for skill points, most of us want to build up our POWER fast, more than any other skill, so we can drive further. Many people use General experience points for this instead of saving your General experience points for Acurracy, Ball Striking & Approach where they should be used.
Here is a simple tip I just figured out, to build your POWER faster.
When you are playing events, use 95-100% power on every shot you can, even if that means to drop down a club. Try to not use under 95% power on your swings, Full, Punch & Pitch shots. When you are above 95% power for your shot, then you get power skill points, with all clubs and most shot types. If you take a shot at 85% power, then you get NO POWER POINTS.
To get MORE POWER skill points, keep your shots above 95% power and you get points for all those shots, then you get much more power skill points for each event. This means you will be clubbing down sometimes to stay out of the rough, instead of using less power. I don't know why I didn't figure this out sooner, but I tested 3 events with this in mind, and it does give you a lot more points. I am building more profile golfers for my friends to use when they visit my home.
In my normal game, I adjust my power down for several shots in a match, almost every hole. Thats probably why it took me so long to figure this out.
Faster POWER, TheJokker
