Hey everyone I finally had a chance to get back to the site so I could register. I never got a chance to get going on the DGA site. Hopefully I get more time over the next couple weeks so I can navigate through the new site and get up to speed on what the WiiGA is all about. Can any of you knowledgeable folks tell me how I can set up a game to play 2 or more other players. I apologize if this seems like TW09 101 stuff. I have played over 1000 on line matches but never against more than one other player. I have a couple friends that I would like to play simultaneously. Unfortunately I haven't figured out how. I thought you could just go into the lobby and create a competitive match. Unfortunately it doesn't show up when they go into the join a game area. What am I missing? They will likely want to join the WiiGA as well. They want me to figure out what it is all about so they don't ave to ask all the stupid questions like the one I am posting here. Thanks in advance for your time. Jeffro09/Linken09

hey jeffro, what u have tried is correct, unfortunatlely ther is a problem with the competitive lobby at the moment. you can create games but no one can see them. we are using the casual lobby at the moment and this works fine. after u create a game u have 2 choices. you can just let your friends join the game in lobby by the usuall manner of clicking on the game and joining. you also have the option to set a password to stop unwanted players joining in, youll notice we use passwords here for that reason. the other way is to create a game then press #2 on your wiimote to bring up your buddy list, click on the player you wish to invite, youll then get a few options. select invite to game room. once that players has entered you can repeat the process for additional players. if you dont have your friends on your buddy list simply choose the option find player/buddy at the bottom of the screen enter their online personna name and select the the correct one from the search and send buddy request. hope this helps a bit, feel free to ask as many Qs as you like or enter the chatroom where there is often someone who will be happy to help.
see you soon neil

Just to emphasize a point neil brought up:
When you invite a buddy to a game, he has to take some action before you can invite any more. In other words, you can't send out a bunch of invites at once. So he'll have to either accept or decline before you can invite someone else. This isn't always clear, so I just wanted to make you aware of that.

Neil/NoChin
Thanks for the quick response. It looks like I may need a little more direction. I gave it a try tonight. I went in to create a game in the lobby. I went in to the casual zone. I set up a game after calling both of the people I wanted to try this with. Once one of them joined it was ready to start game. It displayed that the game was full for the 3rd person. Basically it looked like it would only allow 2 people total to play at a time. I wanted to be able to have a threesome or a foursome. I then tried to set up the game and then hit the number 2 button and invite one player. I allowed them to accept the game and then attempted to hit number 2 again and invite the second player (which would then be three including myself) and the invite a player area was grayed out and not an option as though the game was full.
Essentially both methods looked just like any other time I invite a buddy to play a match. I never did see where I could insert a password. I mention that as people kept joining my game almost immediately after I created it. Then I would have to cancel and tell the guys I was on the phone with to hurry and join before someone else did. This is just as you said it would be. Unfortunately I could not get the threesome going as planned. So I called them and told them we would try another night once you folks helped me figure out where I am going wrong.
HELPPPPP. Sorry if I am being a pain in the rear. Your instruction seemed clear enough. So I am sure I am missing a step.
Thanks in advance once again for any guidance you can provide.
Jeff

Hey jeffro09,
You can set the games for up to 4 players in the settings. If you scroll to the bottom of the menu when setting up there is a menu for selecting the number of players. It is right below where you can set the password. Hope this helps.

I think dude is right. It sounds as if you simply did not scroll far enough down on the game settings list. I remember I didn't realize you could scroll further when I first created a game as well. If you didn't see any spot to put a password in, then I'm sure this is the case, because you couldn't have missed the password entry if you had scrolled far enough down the list. The default # or players in a game is 2, so it would make sense that you could only get two people in the game since you didn't see where you could change that to three or four. Just keep hitting down on the d-pad when you're making your settings and you'll see it.

Thanks to all. You are correct. I just needed to scroll down. It worked like a charm.
