I need some help judging the wind. I am paying attention to the lie of the ball and taking that in to account but i cant seem to have a consistent reaction from my ball. Anybody found a trick to judge this more consistently There are many variables to take into account when there is wind: 1. How strong it is; 2. Which direction; 3. How you have tuned your clubs? 4. What your lie is like hitting from the rough with your wedges. As a general rule if you are playing your shot into a headwind I calculate by adding 1 yard for every mph. Eg flag position is 167y into a 17mph wind the distance is now approx 184y. If the wind is directly behind I have no exact answer for - and can be most accurately obtained by playing the game - but I can say that with the way my clubs are set I can hit a SW with 12mph wind behind somewhere in the region of 150y. So it's roughly an extra 1.5y per mph wind behind. If the wind is blowing East to West or vice versa then I calculate the aiming circle as approx 6y so if the wind is blowing 18mph then I move the aiming circle roughly 3 times its circumference in the opposite direction to which the wind is blowing. I have noticed in TW11 that when hitting wedges from the rough with a lie in the region of 80% there is a strong chance you can get a flyer - the ball explodes from the rough with more velocity/speed than expected - this is unhelpful with a tailwind but helpful with a headwind. I feel experience playing the game is necessary for this problem. All I try and do is get it on the green and hopefully hole the putt. I hope this helps.

danny i dont know what style you play loft are %. i play % and for tailwinds i subract 1 % for each mph oh wind. for headwinds i add 3 % for each mph of wind after setting my shot. this has worked well for me. mind you my pwer settings are not maxed. as for crosswinds only experience will help you there.

Great insight, Thanks.
I finished the skills challenge last night. Is there any reason to go back and finish all of the challenges with gold besides the points?
I had Tiger pop up and talk to me about earning my card last night as well. Should i just concentrate on wining more tournaments?

JUDGE the wind? Who AM I to JUDGE the wind? I make no JUDGEMENTS....as EVIDENCE of my game in wind. When it comes to WIND, I usually PASS!
