c'mon whats the delay about the playoffs, people want to go on to the next season. what he said Some of us are waiting on results from qualifying matches. I'm in TPX consolation bracket and waiting on a match to decide my opponent. I would not mind if the admins decide to move on and get the next season going, though. Mot

I'm for going on to the next season. A line needs to be drawn. We are way past the deadline. I'm sure those who have not finished would accept that move. Next season let's really try to get these matches done. Not being a hypocrite, I will get my match with Kenw done tonight. BWP has said that he can't play much this summer. I will forfiet my match if that will speed things up. I don't want to be one who holds others up. If Kenw is not available tonight, then I forfiet. I sent him a PM to play last weekend and wasn't able to do it. that is my fault. It was only a 7th place match, but that shouldn't matter. That being said, if kenw and I don't get our match in tonight, I officially foreit.
good luck to er'body on season 3.

I'm sure we can get it rolling soon. BTW: This is the first season that there has been such a HUGE delay of peeps not getting their rds in. Usually the AM already has a winner shortly into the playoffs. So far, they aren't even done with the semi-finals. The summer months typically are slower with players actually out playing real golf and vacationing. As for davski, I sent you a pm with something along the lines of " I let you have 8th place because I like you SInce you are knew, I have never seen an entire playoff bracket ever completed. We usually get the top 4 or 5 at least and move on. -ken

I sent Skinnie a PM about our AM semi a couple of weeks ago and haven't heard back. I was guessing he's on vacation perhaps. I'm ready to play any time.
If folks want to move on, I'm cool with that too.

Just passing this along...
SkinniePost has to forfeit his playoff rds in both AM and TPX.
So if you were scheduled to play SP, you advance and can try to arrange your next rd.

looks to me no like one wants to finish the consolation playoff games so i vote to do away with them in the next season. if you dont play for first place why play. it just drags the season on to long or start putting dates to finish them.

Zach when can we play our AM match? Let me know when you guys decide to play. If I'm free then, I'll try to stop by as well and play the winner following your match if that works for my opponent. TMan

I agree with this - but I feel there should be 3rd and 4th place playoff too. The playoffs have ground to a halt this year because of Skinnie's hiatus. Having lost to Skinnie myself in AM quarter finals - there was no real motivation for me to continue (although I did do so). Maybe this is something the Admins should consider and it would be far less work for them too.

I'll have to forfeit my semifinal match with Holy. We can't find a time that works for both of us, so we have to find a way to get these playoffs done.
Good luck against TMan in the finals Holy.

We are looking at changing the format for the playoffs to avoid this problem in the future. Will have it worked out before the next playoffs.

I'll have to forfeit my semifinal match with Holy. We can't find a time that works for both of us, so we have to find a way to get these playoffs done. Good luck against TMan in the finals Holy. A way to get round time differences and get these games playedHey this isnt perfect but it can work Jturner and I had to play a Matchplay playoff game in Tw11 at BAGS. A 9 hour time difference made it very difficult to organise the game. Rather than one of us conceeded which we were both willing to do ( not a satisfactory way of winning a game) We agreed to play using the same setts but with a local partner. We both played within 3 days then PMd the results to each other, and compared scores to see who would have won each hole. If I remember correctly 1. JT won 3 and 1, 2. We played at a convenient time for both of us even though it wasnt against each other but was the same course and settings 3. A result that gave us both a fair chance 4. We were both happy that a result was achieved and no one else was inconvenienced yet was no hardship for either of us 5. So the wind direction and force may have been a little different but hey its a computer game and we both accepted either one of us could have had the slight advantage. 6. A fair result and much better than one person getting a free ride into the next round. 7. We held no one else up while achieving a result acceptable to both of us Ok people lets give it some thought before the next play offs. Will this scenario work, anyone got any other ideas, Do we need a cut off date for each round of play offs before this or another system is used to get a result. Maybe if a game hasnt been played before a cut off date then 1 more week is allowed for a game to be decided using this type or similar type system. Jim

Hey Jim,
Great to hear from you and thanks for the input. We have been tossing some ideas in chat the last few days and are looking at the options you have as well as some others.
It has been frustrating watching the matches grind to a halt. I know summer is always more difficult, but we will definitely be changing things up before the next playoffs.

Holy, I've sent you a PM as well, but let's see if we can get this final done tomorrow (Sunday) some time. I'll be free starting around 9am central. Hopefully you have some free time as well.
