OFFICAL RD 1 @ Melbourne zachf31 defeats kenw 2 and 1 Ken started out with an eagle on 2 and was up one through 5. I won the next two holes after ken had two squares on the card, but he birdied #8 and won #9 after I shot clocked on the tee (oops!). Ken was 1 up after 9 I won #10 but ken birdied 12 to stay 1up. But after that my mojo got flowing, and I won three of the next four holes after that. Give it up to ken, though, since we were tied after 14 holes

OFFICAL RD 1 @ Melbourne Ken was 1 up after 9 zachf31 defeats kenw 2 and 1 CONFIRMEDI suggest making playoffs of just NINE holes Z was rustey and I thought maybe, just maybe, if I can put a good rd together, it will be close. I had 3 or 4 of those '' longest putt record'' show up on screen. They were insane in the 84% and up to a 90% attempts. Of course, I had to try for them I had a 1up lead after 12 and then we were tied after 14 grueling holes. I made pars on 15 and 16, and birdies on 17 and 18. Z happened to make birdies on each of those holes as well. I tried my hardest to have the biggest upset in TPX history and boy was it close! Great game Z, now win this sucker! -ken

OFFICIAL ROUND 2 TPX
TMangrove defeats Motnola 3 & 2 at Royal Melbourne
I started slow, with TMan taking a one hole advantage right from the start. Then I forgot that using the driver at the drivable #6 can actually get you to OB, as it did me. LOL. By the turn, Tman was 3UP.
Then I caught on fire, but so did TMan. I cut the lead down to 2 at some point, but he responded right back. The stroke score was 61 and 64.
Fun round and good luck in the rest of the playoffs TMan.

I hit my approach at the first to within 1 foot. It was the first of several thumpers for me - rare these days. I hit driver on 6 as well but I added a bunch of loft and must have hit the rough short of the green because I had about a 40 foot eagle putt (missed by 2 inches). We're always within 2 or 3 shots of each other when we play. We recently met in the playoffs over at Holy's club and Mot won. I just happened to come out on top this time. I probably had an advantage as I'd already played my other two playoff matches at Melbourne. I think I remembered a few things about the course. Good luck the rest of the way Mot! TMan

Play In Liberty National:
Mark1772 loses 2&1 to BWP.
I played 14 great holes (-3) and 4 terrible holes (+13). I was 2d after 5 and managed to claw my way back into the game and was 1d after #14. I made a bad swing off the tee on #15 which resulted in me losing the hole and being 2d with 3 to play. We tied #16 with birdies and #17 with pars.
BWP wasn't making his putts which probably kept the score respectable from my point of view. However, that being said Liberty does have tricky greens.
Congratulations BWP and good luck vs Skinnie at Royal Melbourne.

OFFICIAL - Celtic -TPX#5 motnola vs # 9 kenw Motnola cracked open an Ice cold 7up and its how it went. ken opened with a bogey and mot par'd. 1 up mot. We both birided the 2nd. On hole # 3 mot dang near aced the tricky p3 with the water in front. I thumped it, but he was sooooo closer than I. Mot birdied #6,7, and 8 to take a comanding 4 up lead. Hole #9, ken bogied to mot's par and we make the turn. Mot 5 up Mot eagles the 11th to go up 6. He then makes birdie on the 13th to go 7up. We each try to do the impossible on the ''d4'' # 15th, which really isn't a ''d4'' after all. ken makes triple to mots double hole 16, ken bogeys to mots par. We end on a high note with each making pars on 17th and 18th. Mot threw a 65 to kens 77. Congrats goes to mot and his great rd!! That was a lot of fun and always great to get a rd in with mot!!! -ken

He's regularly shooting in the 70s now (down from 90s and 80s) and with his vast knowledge of the courses, we better watch out when he takes it to the next level. Great fun K. Mot

Official TPX semi at Celtic Manor TMangrove wins 1 up over Zach Zach spotted me a 3 hole lead after 3 as if he was trying to give himself a challenge. He won holes 4 and 6, though, to cut it back to 1 quickly. It stayed there until Zach won the 13 the square the match and grab the momentum. The closing holes at Celtic Manor have always given me lots of trouble and we reached 16 AS. I made a 22 footer for birdie at 16 to halve the hole, a 21 footer at 17 for birdie to halve the hole and knocked my 3rd to within 10 feet at 18 to set up the winning birdie. I never expected to win this match but after taking an early lead the nerves kicked in Thanks for the game Zach and great comeback. Edit to add video link: www.ustream.tv/recorded/16529290TMan

TMan I started off bogey-par-triple and thought I was done right then. After I made birdies on 16 and 17 and saw TMan's ball far away from the pin on both holes, I thought I was going to win right there, but he managed to sink both clutch putts. We both had to lay up on 18, but I didn't add enough loft on my approach and left myself with a tough birdie. I missed, and TMan rolled in his short putt to win it. Great game and good luck in the finals!

Official @ Melbourne (quarter finals)
Davski defeats HolyHutton 2&1.
I got lucky enough to play a rusty fresh back from holliday Holy. his putter was cold on the front nine and I was up 3 after 8. Holy won 9 and 10. I started to get nervous, but was able to finish strong. Plus I think Holy has a curse when playing me.
Good match Holy, thanks again.

Confirmed. I think I have said this before but I have a terrible record against Davski. He always, always seems to beat me. Long game wise there was nothing much wrong, but I didn't hole anything so to only lose by 2 and 1 is actually a little achievement for me. Good luck in the next round Davski!

TPX Playoff Final TMangrove defeats Davski 3&2 After halving the first 2 holes, I won 3 of the next 4 holes take a lead that never got closer than 2 again. I had pushed it to 4up when Dave won a couple of holes on the back 9 to get back in the match. I only had 1 thumper, I think, so I needed to make a few putts and I was able to do so. I knew Dave would be a tough opponent but he was just a little off with his putting and that bailed me out a few times. Thanks for the game Dave and congratulation on getting to the final. That is no small accomplishment. Here's the video: www.ustream.tv/recorded/16997033TMan

I just couldn't keep up with his magical putter. Good Match Tman! Congratulations on the championship. The better golfer definitely won.
