This poll is to decide if the end of season playoffs should be run in flights, simply expanded, or remain as is. See the Season 4 Proposal and Stop the Insanity threads in the Round Table for further discussion about flights. The flight notion basically says that groupings of players from top to bottom of the end of season rankings should have a match play tourney against players at similar levels of skill. There could be 2, 3 or even more flights, with winners for each flight. And of course, all who want to participate can participate.
This poll will close in 3 days.

I voted for flights for both AM and PRO, and I'd like to explain why:
While the sentiment in the discussion around flights was pretty much focused on AM, I think it's important to remember that AM and PRO are really styles of play, and not levels. If flights will help encourage more players to participate in the AM tourneys and playoffs, flights should also encourage more participation with PRO settings. If style of play is the issue, then there's no reason that the benefits wouldn't apply equally to both.

From the Season 4 Announcement: Each tournament will be offered in two styles of play, AM and PRO, with corresponding leaderboards. All members may play freely in either or both styles for every tourney. When the Season has concluded all members who completed all six tournaments will be eligible for the PRO and AM matchplay playoffs. The playoffs will be structured in flights based on season rankings so that members compete against other members of similar skill levels. The number of flights will be determined by the number of members who complete all tourneys within a style of play. Details for how the flights will work and for final scoring will be worked out during the Season and announced prior to the start of match play; however, champions for each flight will be identified.
So the short answer is, everyone who wants to play in the playoffs can. We'll handle the numbers in flights if there are more than 8 participants. We'll set up the brackets when we know how many want to play.

Hey Ike- see the rules for Season 4: http://wiigatour.proboards.com./index.cgi?board=announce&action=display&thread=1029
A bullet under Miscellaneous indicates clearly that there will be no extensions in Season 4.

Thanks G for clarification. I was thinking it was going to be the top 16 players and with the fantastic turnout in season 4 with 33+ participants so far I was going to suggest while the top 16 were in the playoffs I would do a 2nd tier playoffs. I was going to mirror the top 16 with all the other players who didn't make the sweet 16. Maybe another time.
