Hey guys,
I'm a total noob, here. I just bought a new computer with Windows 7, and I cannot access chat. I suppose it is some issue with Java and Windows 7, but just wondering if y'all have any insight? I have downloaded the latest version of Java, but I cannot access chat using either Explorer 8 or Firefox. All I get is a white box, and the login box never shows up.
BTW, I have no problem accessing chat on my old computer running Windows XP.

I am logged of my XP computer when I try to access chat on the one with Windows 7. The support questions you linked just kept suggesting I reload Java, which I have done 3 times today. I am no getting a black box when I use Firefox, and a white box when I use Explorer 8. The login box never shows up.

RussMan... This may sound dumb, but have you tried to clear your Internet Browser Cache... It has worked for me in the past, when this problem has come up. I will look into more sophisticated fixes as soon as I can, but try this in the mean time... Because there are no compatibility issues with Java and Windows 7 (It would be all over the Internet by now, and a major screw up on the part of both parties, since Java is one of the most widely used programs for website design and use). After saying that, it probably narrows it down to something on your computer specifically... I will see if I can isolate a couple other things you can try or look into. Later, Skinnie:P Addendum #1 Try this link as well... To make sure Java is enabled in the browsers on the Windows 7 machine... java.com/en/download/help/enable_browser.xmlEven though it would be rather apparent if it wasn't enabled, since many other website and programs would be having problems as well, and it should be on initially unless manually turned off otherwise?

Hi russel, i use Windows 7 and IE8 too. First wiigatour.proboards.com is in my trusted Sites that you can reach From the Internet Explorer Tools menu, click Internet Options. Click Security. Click Trusted Sites. In the Security level for this zone box, check your security level. You may need to do one of the following: If it is set to High, use the slider to change it to a Medium or lower security level. Mine is set to medium and default. Click the Sites button. In the Add this website to the zone field, type the URL for the trusted website. De-select Require server verification for all sites in this zone. Click Close. On the Internet Options window, click OK. Maybe this should work for you too. Must be something with the Security Level and the zones, i believe LeeTargo

For anyone who may have been following this thread, I finally got chat to work. However, I tried every fix I could think of at once, and so I don't really know what the problem was. I cleared my cache and checked my security settings, and that didn't seem to work. Then I detached my USB external video card that runs my second monitor (and which really does not communicate wll with Windows 7) and that didn't work either. So, I decided to restart my computer without the external video card, and I was able to access chat using both Firefox and IE8. I then re-attached the video card and....so far so good. Perhaps I should not have bought such a cheap computer....
