Forum Changes...

Hey all...

I'm back, long story... To long to explain fully.

I am just giving you a heads up about the new forum changes

I will post tonight regarding the full scope of stuff that has been modified, but until then feel free to explore and try stuff out. Also, if you could post about any problems you are having that would be great... Other than the proportion of your avatar, which I will fix shortly.

Some of the highlight include:
- New Side Tables on the home page that show profile and forum information
- New forum design scheme
- Larger chat window
- New mini profile boxes to the left of your posts
- A new karma/Reputation system... No more smite button
- A new money system to be used for tournaments and gambling... The money system also increases if you get exalted or make a new post in the forum. The starting amount for your profile is based on past number of post made in the forum, and your current karma.

As most of you have seen the site and are wondering what all has changed or been moved

Here is a list of everything thing that had been modified, other than the color and appearance changes, which are still being finalized. Since there is still some new stuff being added and the colors are being tweaked, but the bones of the site are in place... You could say this is a "Beta" release

List of Changes (with brief explanations):

- New Side Tables on the left side of the screen that contain the stuff that was in the old Information Center, which was at the bottom of the screen. These include: Your Avatar and a link to your PM's, recent post information, current user information, forum history, this months Events, and Birthdays. To activate your Avatar image you need to visit your Profile page once. This is done by hitting the Profile button at the top of the page, then returning to the Home screen. Once it is activated... You can click on the Avatar if you ever want to return to your Profile.

- A new button at the top of your screen that takes you to your message box, and it turns red when you have a new, unread message.

- A newly formatted Mini Profile that shows up next to your post.

- The money system which includes the following changes: Karma is now called Reputation, the Smite button has been removed, and your Profile now has a Bank Account. More information about the Money system can be found at these links... Ledger Book Thread & Money Tranfer Questions & Comments...

- The money you already have in your account is based on the number of post you had made on the forum, and your old Karma amount. They are worth the following amounts... $20 per post and $10 per Reputation/Karma point. All future post you make and Reputation Points you receive will be worth those amounts as well. To give someone a Reputation point you just hit the Exalt button like you did before.

- A drop down list has been added to the PM screen. When you are sending a new PM you just click the pulldown next to the "To:" box for a list of members that you can send it to.

- The colors and format of the site are still being changed, so feel free to leave comments if something doesn't work for you or is not easy to read. You can do that here... Comments Regarding Site Design

Another recent forum change, partly by me and partly by Proboards is the following:

- For adding web links to your post, you no longer need to use the button with the globe on it... Just paste the link and it will automatically highlight it for you.

- For adding YouTube videos, you can do the same thing... Just copy the video link in the address bar at the top of your browser, and paste it into your post. Nothing else is required.

Note: Pasting your YouTube videos also creates a thumbnail with sends you to a full size player, not the small embedded player like before with ads on the side. If you use the YouTube Button, is inserts them the same way as before.

Two small new addition has been added to the site...

Under any post made, there are thumbs up and thumbs down images. These can be used to like or dislike a post.

Note: The names of the members are listed under post, so be careful which post you dislike, hehe

Also, a new Side Table has been added that shows which members are currently in chat.

Thanks for your patience, as I continue to upgrade the site... More new features and graphical changes will be coming over the next few weeks, so feel free to make any suggestions, and I will try to fulfill them ;D

As some people have already noticed... We now have an Arcade section with some stupid little Golf related flash games.

Feel free to post your high scores in the related threads for fun

A 2 new image upload links have been added to the "Post Message" screen. They are towards the top of the screen above where you type the message. They link to TinyPic and imgur. These are two site that let you upload images without having to create an account. So you hit the links and follow the instructions as to where to paste the link of the image you want to post, or the location of the image on your computer. Then the site give you the optional to copy and paste the image link with the correct code to display it on the site, i.e. .

Send me a PM if you need any help using this function, and hopefully it will make it a little easier for people to paste images onto the site

It now shows the list of Sub Boards on the Main Page... Hopefully this will help people navigate to where they need to go ;D

Also, Just a reminder... Two thing:

- You don't need to use the URL button anymore, you can just paste the link into your post and it becomes active automatically,
- You to not need to use the YouTube button anymore either, even though you can if you would like. If you use the button, an embedded player w/ an Ad next to it shows up in the post. If you just paste the link into your post and do not use the button, a thumbnail image of the video shows up, and when it is clicked the video opens in another tab or window (depend on your browser settings). Try it to see the difference

And a heads up related to the second item... The more YouTube posts with the Ads next to them that show up in the Most Recent Post Thread, the longer it takes to load
